The Chevrolet Camaro deserves its reputation as one of the industry’s top sports cars. The Camaro’s acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds is facilitated by its 335 horsepower V6 engine. The Chevrolet Camaro is among the longest-lasting cars on the market. Camaros are widely recognized as Chevrolet’s quintessential pony car due to their responsive handling, quiet rides, sporty demeanor, and low starting prices. You may always get a V6 engine for your Camaro if you feel like you need additional power.

Find out how each V6 option performs, which trim level is best for you, and how the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro stacks up against the competition with this comprehensive buyer’s guide.

Chevrolet Camaro V6 (2022)

Camaros are one of the most reasonably priced performance automobiles in the American muscle car industry. The standard turbo four-cylinder engine produces 275 horsepower, which is more than enough for most drivers. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for more power, the 335-horsepower V6 is an available option. (Or, if you really need to go somewhere quickly, a V8 with 455 hp). The six-speed manual transmission comes standard and is great for enthusiasts as it can be upgraded further if desired.

  • Engine: 3.6-liter V6
  • Total Horsepower: 335 hp @ 6,800 rpm
  • Torque produced: 284 lb-ft @ 5,300 rpm
  • 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds
  • Price starts from $47,990

The Camaro V6 is jam-packed with a lot of features. But some features stand out from the crowd.

Infotainment system:

Chevy’s Infotainment 3 touchscreen, included in every Camaro, is well-organized and easy to navigate. A Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay are also included.

Safety features:

The Camaro has a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA, and that’s not all: there are a plethora of active and passive safety aids, including blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alerts, and front collision warnings, that can be added to any Camaro.

Upgrade options:

The 2022 Camaro is offered in no less than seven distinct trim levels, each with its own unique set of performance, security, and comfort enhancements.

What is the fuel economy of the Camaro V6?

The improved engines may provide more power, but at the expense of fuel economy. When paired with the six-speed manual transmission, the base four-cylinder achieves 22 mpg combined. Yet, with the same transmission, the V6 returns only 20 mpg in fuel economy.

Models with the V6

The four-cylinder engine is standard on most 2022 Camaro models, but a V6 may be added to the 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. The V8 engine is only available on the LT1, 1SS, and 2SS trims. The base price of a 1LT model is $26,195, while the V6 version costs an additional $1,595.

How fast can the Chevrolet Camaro go?

The Camaro is renowned as a powerful muscle automobile, not for its convenience. That implies the rate at which it may be accessed is a big selling point. The best 0-60 time for the base four-cylinder 2022 Camaro was 5.5 seconds; with the V6, that time dropped to 5.2 seconds. The V8 reduced the time to 4.0 seconds for the record.

Camaro Trims

Camaros with V6 engines is available in two body styles, coupe and convertible. Customers can choose from the 1LT, 2LT, or 3LT. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is standard on all three, but the 1,595-dollar V6 is an option. The standard 275 hp can go upto to 335 hp with the V6.

The 1LT trim is the entry-level V6 option. The 1LT trim is the next rung up from the entry-level 1LS model and comes standard with niceties like satellite radio and a six-way power passenger seat. It also enables the purchase of optional add-ons like the Technology Package and the LT 1LE Track Performance Add-on. A base model V6 1LT Camaro will set you back at least $28,290.

The 2LT is similar to the 1LT in most respects, except that it comes standard with ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and an outside temperature gauge.

The 3LT is the top V6 trim level and has many more standard features than the 1LT and 2LT. The 3LT, for instance, comes standard with a Bose nine-speaker sound system, wireless charging, memory settings for the driver’s seat, heated side mirrors, and a heated steering wheel. The price starts at $34,190 for the base 3LT V6 model.

Your top priority should guide your decision. Each of these three variations can have the same engine and power; therefore, your decision should be based on the level of luxury you are willing to spend. If the 3LT’s technology features are appealing, you can get them for just $900 extra by upgrading to the 1LT and adding on the Technology Package.
