The Dallas Airport provides both Hourly and Daily Parking areas near the terminals. The North and South Hourly Parking Lots are located right in front of each domestic terminal entrance. If you are simply picking someone up or dropping them off here, Hourly Parking is the perfect option, however, if you need overnight parking, you should opt for either the Daily Parking or Economy Parking areas. About Dallas Love Field (DAL) Airport

Dallas Love Field (DAL) Airport, named after U.S. Army 11th Cavalry veteran Moss L. Love who passed away in an airplane crash on September 4, 1913 near San Diego, California. In the United States army aviation history, he became the 10th fatality. When the idea of constructing an airport in Dallas, Texas came about, they decided to name the airport in his honor, inaugurating it on October 19, 1917.

Dallas Love Field Airport remains one of the greatest general-purpose airports in the United States and the world. Situated northwest of the downtown central business district, the Department of Aviation manages the airport. The airport serves both commercial airlines and the corporate needs of users. From the Downtown Convention Center, Infomart, West End, and Dallas Market Center, the airport is 20 minutes away.

The airport does not operate on taxpayer money but supports itself through reasonable charges and fees. Moreover, the activities at the airport produce funds that go towards the local tax base. The airport also offers employment opportunities and serves as a service provider to local businesses and members of the community. Driving Directions

The Dallas Love Field Airport is located in Dallas (surprise! surprise!), Cedar Springs Road at Mockingbird Lane, Love Field is only 20 minutes away from Dallas’s Central Business District. It is seven miles away from the Dallas West End, Informart, Dallas West End, and Dallas Convention Center.

If you are coming to the airport from I-35E, take the Mockingbird Lane exit and travel East on Mockingbird Lane, turning left onto Cedar Springs Road and traveling towards the terminal building.

If you are coming from the U.S. 75 or the Dallas North Tollway, take the Mockingbird Lane exit and travel West on Mockingbird Lane, turning right onto Cedar Springs Road and traveling towards the terminal building.

Things to do at Dallas Love Field Airport

The Dallas Love Field Airport has two terminals, the Main Terminal and the Legend Terminal. Inside the terminals, you will find the following facilities to make your time at Love Field airport a breeze:

Banking and cash

You will find banking facilities located at both the West and East concourses. However, the airport does not offer currency exchange. You can access money easily from the Departures areas, but you will not find ATM machines in Arrivals. If you need to make an online transaction, you can access the wireless internet from the terminal and postal communication services offered by the two business and conference areas at the airport.

Food

Inside the Dallas Love Field Airport, you will come across a wide range of small bars and cafes located throughout the concourses and lobby. Some of the restaurants and fast-food chains found inside the airport include Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, and Dreyer’s Ice Cream. You will also find several Southwest specialties there.

Shopping

If you are in the mood to shop before you fly from the airport or you forgot to pack something before you left the house, you can browse one of many stores inside the airport. You will find most of the stores located at the West Concourse, which also has several departure gates. It also serves Southwest Airlines. However, you will not find any duty-free shopping there. You will come across several gift stores, newsagents, a sporting goods stores, sunglasses shops, and bookstores.

Luggage

The airport has a Lost and Found Program. If you have lost your personal belongings, you can visit the Lost and Found Program to find it. If you have lost any of your valuables at the terminal of the airport, you can get in touch with the Lost and Found Office at 214-670-4227.

You can also email the Lost and Found Office at AVILost&Found@dallascityhall.com. You need to complete and submit a form, reporting your lost item to them. They are available from Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can leave them a voicemail message or email them.

They will get back to you the following day. You should also know that they do not hold lost items for more than 30 days due to limited storage space. For this reason, it is important for all passengers who have lost their personal belonging at the airport to contact them and claim their item by Day 31. Failure to claim their item within 30 days will result in them donating it to the local United Way charities.

The airport offers two state-of-the-art conference and business facilities. If you need to host a meeting, you can host one in one of their spacious conference and business facilities. You will find the primary Dallas Love Field Conference Center behind the ticket counter of Southwest Airlines in the lobby.

The main Dallas Love Field Conference Center features five rooms with sufficient space for up to 20 people. If you need a larger conference, you can book one through the Aviation Administration. The room provided by them features two rooms located close to the lobby and the East Concourse.

The first room can hold 40 people whereas the second room can hold 200 people. You will find advanced multimedia and telecommunications equipment there as well as a complete catering service. If you need your shoe shined, get their shoeshine service provided by a store situated close to the West Concourse entrance.

Communication Facilities

The airport has around 2,600 charging stations and power ports. This includes more than 1,300 electric charging plugs and 1,300 USB charging ports.
