The 2022 Ford Bronco is impressive, period. This big body-on-frame off-roader has standard all-wheel drive, not to mention plenty of power. All versions of the 2022 Ford Bronco are pretty solid off-roaders out of the box. But not all Broncos are made equal! Certain Bronco models are more off-road ready than others. You can upgrade certain trim levels of the 2022 Ford Bronco to make it even more of a beast or opt for the Sasquatch package. Is the Ford Bronco Sasquatch package worth it, or would you be better off with a higher trim level, like Wildtrak?

The 2022 Ford Bronco starts from $30,800, but if you want it ready for really rough terrain, you’ll have to spend a lot of money on upgrades. The Wildtrak is the first trim level equipped with wheels and tires large enough for this use. But getting your Bronco off-road-ready doesn’t necessarily require the Wildtrak trim level. Ford also sells the Sasquatch Package, including several of Wildtrak’s extras. So, should you go with the Sasquatch package or a higher trim? Decisions, decisions! Not to worry, way.com is here to help you figure it out.

What is the Ford Bronco Sasquatch package?

Ford Bronco

The Sasquatch package is a suite of enhancements for the 2022 Ford Bronco that is available for all models except the Raptor.

So, if you see a beast of a Bronco driving around on huge rubber, those trucks are most likely outfitted with the Sasquatch package. Ford claims that the Sasquatch accounts for more than half of current orders. That’s why they made it even more enticing to fans by including manual transmission.

How much does the Ford Bronco Sasquatch package cost?

The Sasquatch Package costs approximately $5000.

The Sasquatch Package does come standard on some models like First Edition and Wildtrak.

How much does the Ford Bronco Wildtrak cost?

Ford Bronco Wildtrak

The MSRP for a Ford Bronco Wildtrak starts from $46,980.

How much does the Ford Bronco Badlands cost?

Ford Bronco Badlands

The MSRP for Badlands starts from $44,495, while the Ford Bronco Sport Badlands starts from36, 590.

What does the Ford Bronco Sasquatch package include?

The package includes front and rear locking differentials, 35-inch tires with 17-inch Beadlock capable wheels, 4.7 final drive ratio, heavy-duty Blistein position-sensitive monotube shocks, and high-clearance fender flares. It also has HOSS – High-performance Off-road Stability Suspension.

Previously, the package was only available with the 10-speed automatic transmission, but drivers may now have it with a manual transmission as well.

Now comes the big question. Are these enhancements really worth the Sasquatch package’s almost $5,000 price tag? Let’s first look at the prices of all Bronco models.

Ford Bronco prices

Ford Bronco Trims 2 Door Price 4 Door Price
Big Bend $33,385 $35,880
Black Diamond $36,050 $38,585
Outer Banks $38,955 $41,450
Badlands $42,095 $44,590
Wildtrak $46,980 $49,475
First Edition $57,410 $61,605

Of course, your budget and requirements will influence your choice between one of the pricier trims and the Sasquatch Package. For example, you could purchase the $30,800 basic model of the 2022 Bronco and add a $6,590 Sasquatch Package for the greatest driving experience on any terrain. However, the 2.3L Ecoboost engine produces 300 horsepower rather than the 2.7L powerplant’s 330 horsepower, which comes at an additional cost ($1,895).

Still wondering if you should splurge on the Wildtrak instead of the Sasquatch? Here’s how they stack up.

The Sasquatch package vs. the Ford Bronco Wildtrak

Despite its high price, the Wildtrak trim is an enticing ride. It has the Bronco’s more powerful 2.7-liter engine, styled LED lighting, a hardtop option for the 4-door vehicle, and several interior/tech enhancements.

Furthermore, it comes with all the components that are part of the Sasquatch Package: 35-inch tires on 17-inch Beadlock-Capable wheels, locking differentials front and rear, improved shocks, and high clearance fender flares.

If you want to add the Sasquatch Package, you may need further changes to your vehicle’s configuration. This may cost you more money. That said, even if you add other extra features to improve the capability of your Base Bronco, the price will still be cheaper than that of the Wildtrak.

That said, if you believe you require the extra off-road capability provided by the Sasquatch Package, are you sure that a low-speed Bronco with the package is a viable alternative?  If that level of off-road capabilities is critical to you, there are less expensive options with competing vehicles that are better equipped for the price.

If the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is out of your price range, the Wildtrak could be a viable alternative if you can afford it. The Bronco Wildtrak has incredible off-road prowess, but it also boasts a more powerful 2.7-liter engine, stylish LED lighting, an optional hardtop for the four-door vehicle, and several interior and technological enhancements.

So if you can afford it, the Ford Bronco Wildtrak has our vote.

Is the Sasquatch Package worth it?

The Sasquatch Package is well worth the money for drivers looking to upgrade their Bronco’s off-road capabilities within a budget.

How tall is the Ford Bronco with the Sasquatch package?

The height of the Base with the Sasquatch package is 73″, the Big Bend is 72.9″, the Wildtrak is 75.2 75.3″, and Badlands is 73.9″. These specs are for 4-door models.
