Sob Rock, John Mayer’s eighth studio album released in July 2021, is now playing at an arena near you! The John Mayer Sob Rock 2022 tour kicked off in February and has already covered major cities like NYC and LA. Though COVID played spoilsport briefly, Mayer & Co are back on the road. With new dates for the postponed shows, the tour is on track for the rest of the spring concerts.
The Tour So Far
John Mayer announced his plans to tour across the US right after officially releasing his 2021 album Sob Rock. The 23-stop North American schedule features multi-day concerts in six cities – three days at The Forum in Inglewood, LA, and two days each in NYC, San Francisco, Atlanta, Austin, and Boston. Toronto is the only Canadian venue on the list.
Before Mayer tested positive for COVID (for the second time within two months), John Mayer Sob Rock 2022 Tour had already covered the first few cities on the schedule. This included two shows at Madison Square Garden and one at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. After a short break and rescheduled dates for four shows, the tour resumed on 7 March at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.
The next stop was MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, followed by The Forum in Inglewood. Mayer performed for three nights in The Forum, with Grammy-winner YEBBA opening the show. YEBBA was also the supporting act at the San Francisco Chase Center concerts. The tour has now reached Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena and is headed to Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City.
John Mayer Tour Dates 2022
John Mayer Sob Rock 2022 Tour was scheduled from 17 February to 29 April. However, with rescheduled dates at four venues, the schedule extends to May.
The first concert was held in Albany, New York. Boston, Bellmont Park, Pittsburg, and Toronto concerts were postponed after several band members tested positive for COVID. The tour resumed on 7 March and is currently in Seattle. Check out the upcoming concerts on the schedule below:

John Mayer Tour 2022 Lineup
John Mayer’s 2022 concerts have 10 musicians on stage. Mayer on guitar and main vocals is supported by guitarists David Ryan Harris and Isaiah Sharkey. Pino Palladino from the John Mayer Trio handles bass guitar, while Jamie Muhoberac and Greg Phillinganes play the keys. Percussionist Lenny Castro and drummer Steve Ferrone are the band’s other members. Vocalists Tiffany Palmer and Carlos Ricketts are also supporting Mayer.
Rising stars Alexander 23 and YEBBA are the opening acts for John Mayer Sob Rock 2022 Tour. YEBBA is set to open for all upcoming concerts, except at the five rescheduled shows.
