Karma Automotive, a luxury electric vehicle producer, was founded in 2014 and is based in sunny Southern California. The Genesis of Karma Automotive
During a bankruptcy auction in February 2014, Wanxiang Group, a Chinese auto parts supplier, acquired the assets of Fisker Automotive for a total of $149.2 million. The assets included the designs, a plug-in hybrid powertrain, and also the former Wilmington Assembly factory in Wilmington, Delaware.
Henrik Fisker, along with his business partner Bernhard Koehler founded Fisker Automotive in 2007. The Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid sports sedan was introduced in 2011. Karma sold approximately 2,000 units of this car. Following two battery recalls by Fisker’s supplier A123 Systems, the company was unable to sustain its operations and ultimately filed for bankruptcy in February 2014.
This resulted in the acquisition of the company by Wanxiang. The acquisition did not include the Fisker brand and trademarks under Henrik Fisker’s ownership. Following its bankruptcy declaration, A123 Systems was also acquired by Wanxiang.
In early 2016 Karma enlisted the help of a straw buyer to try and reverse engineer technology from a former employee and parts supplier. The Wanxiang Group put the Wilmington, Delaware factory up for sale in October 2016.
In 2016, the company started building the Revero at its Moreno Valley, California factory. The production of the vehicle was scheduled to commence towards the end of the same year. The Revero made its debut on September 8, 2016.

Karma Revero
The Revero is a high-end hybrid electric sedan. In 2018, Green Car Journal named this vehicle their Luxury Green Car of the Year. The vehicle has a total cruising range of around 300 miles when using a combination of electric and combustion engine power and around 50 miles when using electric power alone.
Revero GT
The Revero GT is a high-end all-electric vehicle with a long range. The model won Green Car Journal’s “Luxury Green Car of the Year” award for 2020. The Revero GT has improved performance from 0-60 mph in about 4.5 seconds and a launch control feature, setting it apart from the base Revero. When using both the electric and combustion engines, the model has a total cruising range of over 360 miles (580 km) and around 80 miles when using electric power alone. As its flagship model, Karma intends to reimagine the Revero GT by installing an all-wheel-drive powertrain capable of producing more than 1,100 horsepower.
GS Series
The GS-6 can go up to 330 miles on a single charge using a combination of electric and gas power, making it a range-extended plug-in hybrid. The GS-6 is powered by a 400 kilowatt (kW) two-motor drive system, which generates 536 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque.
The GSe-6, on the other hand, is an EV that runs solely on electricity; its 85 kWh battery pack allows it to travel up to 230 miles. A model will soon be available with a 105 kWh battery pack and a range of over 480 kilometers (300 miles). Two 400-kilowatt motors power the GS-6, generating 536 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque.

The Karma GT by Pininfarina is a high-end electric hybrid coupe that features an extended driving range. Its chassis is based on the Revero from 2020, while Pininfarina designed its body. Karma announced its debut at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show.
