Los Angeles Galaxy is one of Major League Soccer’s top teams and is as old as the league itself. Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson hosts the club’s home games and has witnessed several milestones in its history. Here’s all you need to know about LA Galaxy and their home stadium to plan a hassle-free game day experience with affordable parking

Founded in 1994, Los Angeles Galaxy is one of the ten original members of Major League Soccer. The team began playing in the league as a member of the Western Conference in 1996. It is one of two MLS clubs currently based in Greater Los Angeles. Galaxy’s success in the league is highlighted by the Beckham era. Although there are reservations about his time in the club, bringing the world’s most recognizable soccer player to an American league greatly impacted the game’s popularity in the country.

Through its ups and downs (mostly ups) in the last 26 years, LA Galaxy has sealed its place among the top soccer teams in the USA. With an estimated worth of $480 million, Forbes recently named it the second most valuable club in MLS. So whether you have supported the team forever or are a new fan, take a look at this round-up of all you need to know about the club and their home field.

Who are Galaxy’s biggest rivals in MLS?

LA Galaxy’s most popular interstate rivalry is with San Jose Earthquakes. The fierce face-off between the two teams in the California Clásico is one of the longest-running rivalries in American soccer.

Across town, LA Galaxy locks horns with Los Angeles FC in El Tráfico (Los Angeles Derby). But the intense rivalry goes way back to when Galaxy had an intra-stadium rivalry with Chivas USA, known as SuperClasico. However, Chivas USA ceased operations at the end of the 2014 MLS season.
