You don’t want to be scrambling around when you’re flying from or into one of the busiest airports in the world! Here’s info on LAX Airport hours, flight curfews, and more to make your travel easier.

Los Angeles International Airport, commonly known as LAX, is located in Westchester, close to the city’s beachside residential communities. It is around 16 miles from downtown Los Angeles. Because of its location, it is one of the most popular international destinations. Especially so for visitors from Asia and the Pacific.

This bustling airport has 737 daily nonstop flights to 100 local destinations. It also has 1,386 weekly nonstop flights to 88 cities in 44 countries.

Because much more visitors begin or end their itineraries in Los Angeles than utilize it as a link, the airport holds the record for the world’s busiest origin and destination airport. It is also the only airport in the United States that ranks among the top five for passenger and cargo traffic.

It is pretty clear that LAX Airport never sleeps! Therefore travelers must book their LAX parking in advance and know the schedule like the back of their hands to make their travel worry-free.

As we mentioned earlier, LAX is close to several residential communities. Therefore, unless FAA Air Traffic Control deems that weather or airport/air traffic operational conditions make such operations risky, all aircraft arriving at LAX must approach from over the ocean from midnight to 6:30 a.m. This was first established in 1973 to provide some noise relief from arriving aircraft during the noise-sensitive early morning hours to close-in areas to the east of the airport.
