Read ahead for more information about the team from Milwaukee, their upcoming schedule, how to get tickets, and parking information.

Why do they call the Milwaukee franchise ‘The Bucks’?

Just like many other NBA franchises, the Bucks’ management decided to conduct a contest to find a name for the franchise. This was during 1968, and it is believed more than 14,000 suggestions came in. Apparently, ‘Bucks’ came second in the public voting, in which most of the choices were related to Wisconsin wildlife.

The public choice after voting was to go with ‘Robins.’ But the judges of the contest decided to go with something that stayed unique to Wisconsin, and hence the ‘Milwaukee Bucks’ was born.

Who owns Milwaukee Bucks?

There is a group of owners for the NBA franchise based in Milwaukee. This includes Wes Edens, co-founder of Fortress Investment Group, and Marc Lasry, founder of Avenue Capital Group. They bought the team from former US Senator Herb Kohl back in April 2014.

Apart from the online store, a few walk-in stores are located across Wisconsin. The popular one is at the Fiserv Forum Atrium Store, and others are Name of the Game at Mayfair Mall, Madison, and Southridge Mall. You can also find some at Pier 37 in Monona and Insignia in Madison.

Where do the Bucks play their home games?

The Bucks call Fiserv Arena their home. Located at 1111 Vel R Phillips Avenue, this multi-purpose stadium can host hockey, indoor football, and concerts. It can hold more than 17,300 fans during an NBA game, and the game-day experience is second to none.

This arena is also used by the Marquette University men’s basketball team for their home games. Wisconsin Center District owns this arena and has 34 executive suites too.

Throughout the year, Fiserv Arena hosts multiple musical concerts. Artists like Post Malone, Chris Stapleton, and Carrie Underwood are set to perform here in the latter part of this year.

How to get to Fiserv Forum

Milwaukee County Transit System buses have many routes that will get you closer to the Fiserv Forum. For example, on Milwaukee Bucks game days, you can use routes 15, 18, 19, 33, 80, 41, and a few other local services to get within walking distance of Fiserv Forum.

If you prefer driving to Fiserv Forum, you can take a few different routes. For example, you can take West State Street and drive half a mile to the stadium from downtown Milwaukee.

If you are coming from West on I-94, take I-43 North and then McKinley Avenue. From there, turn to 5th Street and West Juneau Avenue. From there you can find the entrance to the stadium easily.

Another alternative is to take the Kilbourn Avenue tunnel after exiting I-43 North. Drive through 6th Street before moving two blocks to the north, and you will find the entrance.

Is there on-site parking at Fiserv Forum?

Yes. There are two official parking structures located near the stadium where fans can park their cars. The first one is the 5th Street Parking Structure, located at 1215 North 5th Street. You can get to this space via McKinley Avenue.

Similarly, there is a space located on 1030 N 6th Street named the Highland Structure. But both of these have limited spaces and are usually in high demand during home game days. As a result, you might have to arrive hours before the start of the game to avoid getting stuck in a long line of cars.

Can I park in the streets near Fiserv Forum?

You have to be very lucky to find a vacant space anywhere near the stadium on game days. Fiserv Forum is located in the Deer District and is surrounded by many other notable destinations. Since this neighborhood is generally busy throughout the day, finding on-street parking can be difficult, to say the least.

Some of these spaces can be found at West Street Paul Avenue. But it will take more than half an hour to walk from this location to the stadium. So, it is not a practical option.

Even if you get a street space to park your car, be careful not to break any rules. The parking authorities are very strict about how their regulations are followed. Hence even a minor violation could lead to parking tickets and hefty fines. The worst-case scenario will be getting your car towed by the time you return from the game.

What are the cheap parking options near Milwaukee Bucks stadium?

So, street parking is scarce, and on-site parking structures can be too expensive for some of you. But there is no need to worry! A third and much more affordable option will save you time and money. Located near the Milwaukee Bucks stadium, there are multiple off-site parking garages.

Most of these off-site parking lots and garages offer premium features at discounted rates. You can enjoy features like valet parking, contactless parking, ADA/Aisle access, and covered parking at these facilities. For added safety, these garages have 24-hour security personnel, camera surveillance, and lot attendants.

The staff members will assist you throughout working hours. You will not have to wait in long lines of cars in heavy traffic before and after the game if you opt for an off-site parking facility.

How to find cheap parking garages near Fiserv Forum?

Both Way.com and the Way app will help you find all the nearby parking facilities, like lots and garages.
