Pop culture affects what we watch, listen to, purchase, and, yes, how we dress for Halloween. We’ve done some investigating, and here is what we bet you will see a lot of our furriest family members showing off this Halloween season.
Pet costume trend one: BARBIE
Everywhere you look is the latest Barbie marketing partnership. Go to Pinkberry? There’s a Barbie swirl. Uggs new color of the season? Barbie Pink. Our beloved animals cannot escape the Barbie mania, so get ready to see lots of pets in pink.
Pet costume trend: YES, CHEF
The success of Hulu’s chef drama “The Bear” will no doubt spawn some hot-headed chef costumes out there, and maybe even a few mama Donna’s (ala Jamie Lee Curtis) inspired looks. We certainly hope so.
Pet costume trend: ALIENS
Are they, or aren’t they, out there? The debate rages on, but one thing is certain: your pets will show off the best in alien couture this Halloween. I’m not sure if they are believers, but our guess is as good as yours.
Pet costume trend: STRANGER THINGS
The final season may not drop until 2025 (after delays from the writer’s strike), but that has not dampened fans’ appetites for the Netflix series. From Stranger Things Apple watches to Hawkin’s sweatshirts, Demogorgon’s are everywhere, including your pet.
Pet costume trend: SPIDER-MAN
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is the third highest-grossing film of the year (so far). It’s also always a safe bet that superhero costumes will line store shelves for humans and pets. At least they are much more comfortable than the plastic masks from the eighties.
Pet costume trend: THE LITTLE MERMAID
Halle Bailey as the live-action version of The Little Mermaid created a huge splash this summer, and that will no doubt be reflected in a multitude of costumes this Halloween, Apparently, the guinea pigs are huge fans.
Pet costume trend: SCREAM aka GHOSTFACE KILLER
For true horror fans, the return of Scream VI was a welcome movie moment this year. What’s even more welcome? A Ghostface Killer costume for their fur baby. Because some of us believe in scary costumes for Halloween.
Pet costume trend: BUD LIGHT CAN
