Does Tony Stark need cars to get around? Well, the genius, playboy, and philanthropist, all mashed into one, first flew into the big screens back in 2008. Robert Downey Jr and Jon Favreau brought Iron Man to life, marking the birth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What makes Mr. Stark stand out from the rest of the Avengers is that he is rich…very, very rich. Along with style and charisma, the billionaire has some cool wheels in his garage. In the movies, we see Tony Starks car collection many a few times. But we have not seen everything. Who knows what is lying in the corners of his garage?
What car does Tony Stark Drive in Iron Man?
The first glimpse of Tony Starks car collection comes when he is fixing the 1932 Ford Flathead Roadster while talking to Pepper Potts.
The Stark car collection in that garage scene also shows the Saleen S7, a 1967 Shelby Cobra, and a Tesla Roadster. It’s funny that the owner of Tesla, Elon Musk has a cameo in the second installment of the Iron Man trilogy.
Director Jon Favreau himself originally owned the Flathead Roadster. The Shelby Cobra with the front-mounted V8 engine met with an unfortunate end. It perished when Tony had a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ and accidentally fell on it. Unfortunately, many Tony Starks cars had to suffer the same fate, the consequences of being a superhero car!
Audi R8 (2008 and 2014)

Despite all these cars, the 2008 Audi R8 stole the show as Tony drives off to the airport in it to meet Rhodey and a charity event. The German sports car will also appear in other forms in future Iron Man movies.

One of those was the 2014 Audi R8, which was included in Iron Man 3. Unfortunately, the movie was not good enough, but it seems that Tony’s love for Audi will remain forever.
Tony Stark’s cars and his obsession with Audi
Audi R8 Spyder
A stylish, soft-top successor of the Audi’s in previous films, the R8 Spyder is again shown as a member of Tony Starks cars in his garage. With a V10 engine, this model is a deserving successor to the 2014 Audi R8.

Tony was studying who Ivan Vanko was with the help of his AI Butler JARVIS. During this scene in Iron Man 2, you can see the white and black Spyder in the background.
Audi R8 e-tron
Featured in Iron Man 3, the e-tron is the third R8 to appear in the MCU. With a number plate reading ‘Stark 16’, this Tony Stark car is one of the few electric-powered models appearing in the films.

It is one of the best high-performance electric cars that can hit 62.1 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds. Also, the newer versions of the car feature better battery packs, meaning the maximum range is 279.6 miles.
Other Audi models featured in Iron Man films include Audi S5 and Audi Q7. In addition, the 2016 Audi R8 shows up in Avengers: Age of Ultron and later in Captain America: Civil War. Stark actually did a Bruce Wayne of this model, making it come to his aid when summoned.
Tony Stark car collection: Honorable Mentions
Rolls Royce Phantom

Very few of you might remember this beauty. It was a beauty, that is, before Ivan Vanko sliced it into pieces with his electrical whips. The Phantom was usually driven by Happy, with Tony and Pepper as passengers.
Acura NSX

The second generation of the NSX by manufacturer Acura only started production in 2015. But Stark managed to get a concept car back in 2012. In ‘The Avengers’ climax scene, you can see him on the back of the driving wheel with Bruce Banner beside him in the other seat.
Revving Down
Rich guys turned superheroes have this thing for fast cars. Be it Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark; cars add style to each of their big-screen adaptations. Of course, the latter has his fondness for classics like the 1953 Cadillac series 62 (Ghia Cadillac) and 1949 Mercury Coupe, both appearing in Iron Man 2. But Audi is undoubtedly one of the popular cars that Stark drives around when he is not in an Iron Man suit.
