When it comes to the most expensive cars globally, renowned brands such as Ferrari, Pagani, and Bugatti come to mind. Here, we look at the most expensive cars that are currently on sale.
Ever since governments worldwide began telling citizens to stay at home, the sale of new ultra-luxury vehicles, especially exotic supercars, has skyrocketed. For us, more time at home has meant binge-watching the latest shows on Netflix. For the ultra-rich, however, it was a good time to acquire the latest and greatest hypercars that money can buy.
However, for the most part, the general public thinks hypercars are pointless to pay attention to because they are unattainable for the most part. That said, hypercars are important to the broader public. The style, functionality, and technology of hypercars drive continuous improvement in the world of mass-produced cars that we see every day. Here, we look at the most expensive cars that are currently on sale and the latest technology they pack. Let’s begin.
Most expensive cars from France
Buggati La Voiture – $18.7 Million
Source: https://www.bugatti.com/
Alright, so the La Voiture from Bugatti isn’t a mass-produced hypercar. Bugatti will only produce one unit of the La Voiture, and it is likely to roll off the assembly line sometime this year. However, it deserves mention here since it is currently the most expensive car in the world today.
The La Voiture Noire is a modern take on Jean Bugatti’s personal Type 57 SC Atlantic. Powered by the same quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine as the Chiron, it produces 1,479 horsepower (1,102 kilowatts) and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. It features six exhaust tips, radical new wheels, an aggressive, unique grille, and a massive light-up emblem spelling out the brand’s name at the rear.

Bugatti Centodieci – $9 million
Source: https://www.bugatti.com/
With a price tag of $9 million, the Bugatti Centodieci may seem like a bargain next to the La Voiture. However, that doesn’t mean it’s any less exclusive or powerful. Unlike the La Voiture, Bugatti has planned to build 10 Centodieci. Unfortunately, all of them have found a home at the time of writing.
This expensive car pays homage to Bugatti’s iconic EB110, one of which was owned by none other than 7-time Formula One champion Micheal Schumacher. Powered by a quad-turbo W16 engine, the Centodieci can hit 0-62mph in just 2.4 seconds! However, a top speed of 236mph makes it one of the slowest Bugatti from the last decade. But don’t let that stop you from dreaming of owning one in the future, as the Centodieci’s exclusivity is bound to make it even more expensive in the years to come.

Bugatti Divo – $6 million

A little less exclusive than the Centodieci, the Divo has a more attainable (relatively speaking, of course!) price tag of $6 million. The Divo has a lot going for it even though it shares a lot with its more affordable sibling, the Chiron. After extensive development, Bugatti made the Divo 77 pounds lighter than the Chiron by adding lighter wheels, a carbon-fiber intercooler, and deleting some sound deadening.
Despite having the same 1,500 horsepower (1,119 kilowatts) as the Chiron, the Divo has a different aerodynamic setup that makes it 8 seconds faster around the Nardo test circuit.

Aston Martin Valkyrie – $3.12 million

Developed in association with Red Bull F1 Racing, this Aston Martin has probably one of the most menacing names in the car industry. This expensive car is rumored to cost anywhere between $2.6 million to $3.9 million. The Valkyrie packs a Cosworth engine that is a delight to listen to at full chat.
The 6.5-liter V12 motor develops 1,160-hp and 664 pound-feet of torque, giving it a top speed of over 200mph. Aston Martin will only build 150 units of the Valkyrie for the road and a further 25 AMR editions for track-use.

Gordon Murray T50 – $3.08 million

Gordon Murray, the man behind the world record-beating McLaren F1, is out with hypercar, the T50. With a price tag of $3.08 million, the T50 is the spiritual successor to the F1, focusing on the driving experience rather than high performance. It is a lightweight, aerodynamic hypercar powered by a naturally aspirated V-12 engine.
The T.50 is similar to the previous McLaren F1. The T50 features upgrades in every way possible thanks to new-generation materials and cutting-edge technology. The Gordon Murray T.50 is said to have a top speed of 220 mph (354 kph), although there are no official acceleration figures yet.
Aston Martin Valhalla – $1.3 million
Source: https://www.astonmartin.com/
Limited to just 500 units worldwide, the Valhalla is the second car to come out of Aston Martin’s tie-up with Red Bull Racing. While the company has revealed that a 3-liter V6 engine will power the Valhalla, it hasn’t released any specific output figures yet. But rest assured, this Aston Martin will likely be the second-fastest car from the company after the Valkyrie.
Pre-production versions of the Valhalla featured one of the most futuristic cabins we’ve seen so far. Loaded with space-age motifs and innovations, The Valhalla gives the impression that it is a car from the future.

Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta – $17.6 million
The Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta was the most expensive car sold in 2021. The Zonda was the first car produced by Italian hypercar manufacturer Pagani Automobili. While the company was supposed to end production a few years ago in favor of their later model, the Hyuara, it has released one-off or special edition versions of the Zonda over the years.

Limited to three units, the HP Barchetta gets an AMG-built 7.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine with 790 horsepower. Its chassis contains carbon fiber for a lighter body and a zippy, quick feel. Of the three cars produced, the last one fetched a staggering sum of $17.6 million when auctioned.
Ferrari SF90 Stradale – $625,000
Source: https://www.ferrari.com/
What’s a ‘most expensive cars’ list without a Ferrari, uh? The SF90 Stradale might be the most expensive Ferrari currently on sale. However, it is one of the most attainable cars on this list, with a price tag under $1 million. But don’t let that fool you into thinking it isn’t a special car. It’s far from it.
First off, the SF90 Stradale is probably one of the prettiest Ferrari (barring the gorgeous Roma) in a while. The streamlined new design screams speed. Powered by a hybrid powertrain, the Valhalla produces 986 horsepower. With a 0-100mph time of just 2.5 seconds, the Valhalla is as quick as a modern-day racecar.
The SF90 Stradale pays homage to the Italian automaker’s rich history while also providing insight into the brand’s future direction. The most expensive car from Ferrari on sale right now aims to change our perception of the brand. The company now aims to be the pioneer for sustainable yet uncompromising vehicles.

Mercedes AMG One – $2.7 million
Source: https://www.mbusa.com/en/home
Designed and engineered with inputs from another seven-time F1 world champion, Sir Lewis Hamilton, the One from AMG features technology borrowed from the pinnacle of motorsports. Powered by a 1000-hp plug-in hybrid drivetrain, the One could answer the issues EV owners face – range anxiety.
While its 1.6-liter V6 engine might seem puny in comparison to other beasts featured here, let’s not forget it features a hybrid setup with electric motors at each wheel! This setup gives the One a 0-120mph time of 6 seconds and a top speed of 217 miles per hour. Best of all, it has one of the most reserved designs of the lot here, making it an ideal vehicle for those who wish to go fat but unnoticed.
Most expensive car from Sweden
Koeniggseg Jesko – $3 million
Source: https://www.koenigsegg.com/
The Jesko is Bugatti’s answer to the Chiron and Divo. So, for a paltry sum of $3 million and change, it seems like a bargain compared to the French hypercars. From a performance standpoint, the Koenigsegg Jesko is one of the world’s fastest supercars.
Swedish automaker Koenigsegg created the Jesko as a worthy successor to their pioneering Agera RS. A new engine, a lighter frame, and a surprising number of comfort features make this a car that’s not only quick but also enjoyable to drive. Its engine is a massive 1280-hp V-8, and its nine-speed transmission is fully custom-made by Koenigsegg to be as quick-shifting as they come.
