What makes Denver International Airport famous?

Denver airport’s massive size is not the only thing that makes it famous. The airport layout, dedication capstone, murals, and the statute in its premises have always sparked conspiracy theories. Here we list some of the interesting ones.

  • One of the most said theories is that the New World Order (NWO) controls the airport.
  • Another important conspiracy theory is that the airport was constructed on top of burial grounds and spiritual sites used by the native tribes that populated the Front Range earlier. It is said that the tribes used the area for centuries.
  • There are many rumors about the airport having numerous unmarked buildings and underground passageways.
  • A time capsule buried on the property has symbols from the Free Masons, linking to Illuminati. Many believe that the airport serves as the headquarters of the Illuminati.
  • The airport boasts the longest runway in North America. However, it is more famous for the shape it dons – Swastika, igniting a Nazi connection!
  • Many believe that the 32-foot tall Blue Mustang statue in the airport is haunted. Nicknamed ‘Blucifer,’ the red-eyed horse statue is famous for falling over and killing the artist, Luis Jiménez.

The passenger traffic in the airport will be similar to the one you see in Atlanta airport or LAX airport. The airport offers short-term and long-term parking in 44,000 parking spaces across. Long-term parking

The Economy and Shuttle lots are the ideal options if you are looking for long-term DIA parking. The East and West Economy lots are within walking distance to the Jeppesen terminal. Daily parking in this lot will cost you $17 per day. The Pikes Peak and Mt. Elbert are the two Economy lots that offer around 17,500 parking spaces. Both these lots are temporarily closed! When open, the lots will provide you long-term parking at $8 per day. The Economy and Shuttle lots also offer free shuttle services to the passengers.

Short-term parking

The East and West Garage lots are near the Jeppesen terminal. The lot charges you short-term parking at $5 per hour for covered and uncovered parking. Using daily parking in this lot costs you $28 per day. The Short Term lot is located at the Arrivals level (level 4) in East and West Garages. These covered parking spaces charge you $6 per hour for short-term parking. The Economy and Shuttle lots are ideal for short-term parking as they offer lower rates too. The Economy and Shuttle lots cost you $5 and $2 per hour for hourly parking.

Other airport parking options

The passengers can always use the 61st and Peña parking lot located on the Regional Transportation District ‘s (RTD) University of Colorado A Line. This lot has around 800 parking spaces that could be used on a first-come, first-serve basis. Short-term parking costs you $3 per 12 hours, and long-term parking will cost you $6 per day. The lot doesn’t offer a shuttle service. You could reach the airport via the A Line commuter rail for $10.50.

Denver International Airport, being one of the busiest globally, it may be hard to get an onsite parking spot. Even the 61st and Peña parking lot gets booked out quickly during peak hours or seasons. A safe option will be to check the nearby garages or lots that offer parking at cheaper rates with added amenities. Many nearby garages may have lower hourly and daily parking rates when compared to the onsite lots. You can always reserve a parking spot through their app or website or use the Way.com app or website to book a parking spot at lower rates.
