Montrose Beach free parking has always been one of the top advantages for visitors – Montrose Avenue, Montrose Harbor Drive, Wilson Avenue, Marine Drive, and several other streets nearby the beach has free parking spots. However, in 2021, the city has introduced more parking meters in the neighborhood – you might have to pay $2,25 an hour for parking along some section of Lawrence Avenue and Montrose Harbor Drive, between 8 am and 11 pm.
The Montrose Dog Beach Lot is at 610 West Lawrence Avenue at the northern end of the beach, while the Montrose Harbor Lot is at 4400 North Simonds Drive – there are the two closest parking lots. You can also park at Wilson and Lake Shore Drive Lot, located north of Wilson Drive in Lawrence Field. Another public parking lot nearby is the Margate Field House Lot at 4921 North Marine Drive. If you don’t mind a short walk to the beach, you can beat the rush and park hassle-free at a garage on streets crossing Lawrence, Wilson, and Montrose Avenues.
Montrose Beach parking lot rates start at $2 for one hour or less and go up to a daily maximum of $20 for 10 hours – 24 hours/closing time. These rates are applicable at all the public parking lots close to the beach, including Montrose Dog Beach Lot and Montrose Harbor Lot. The monthly parking pass at the Challenged Park Lot costs about $85, including taxes.
Montrose Dog Beach, Montrose Harbor, and Wilson & LSD parking lots are open from 6 am to 11 pm. The Margate Park Field House parking lot is open 24 hours; Challenger Park Lot at 1100 W Irving Park is also open 24x7 and provides monthly parking spots as well. Most of the other parking lots and garages in the Uptown neighborhood are also open all day and offer overnight parking.
