Formerly known as the Jack Kent Cooke Stadium, FedEx Field is one of the largest NFL venues in terms of seating capacity. It is home to the Washington Commanders and attracts thousands of fans on game days. However, the stadium's location in Summerfield near the Capital Beltway – around five miles east of Washington, D.C - has earned a lot of criticism.
With the nearest metro station - Morgan Boulevard - a mile away, using public transportation to FedEx Field is not a fan Favorite. Many prefer to drive to the stadium, and thus, the demand for on-site parking is always high during major events and Redskins home games. Apart from NFL games, the stadium also hosts college football and concerts. The Prince George's Classic football game is annually held here. FedEx Field has also served as a venue for several international soccer matches.
Official parking is provided at designated stadium lots for all major events, including Washington Commanders' home games and other football events. However, due to high demand, FedEx Field parking is expensive. Therefore, you must also book in advance for a guaranteed spot, especially for Redskins games.
Alternative parking near FedEx Field is available at off-stadium garages and lots. Though these are further away from the designated parking zones, you'll save over 60% when you book an off-site garage space. Check out these cheap deals on the FedEx Field parking lot map.

Additionally, off-stadium parking is available within walking distance of the stadium. However, during Redskins games and big concerts, these spots might not be enough to accommodate the demand. Reserving your parking near FedEx Field is highly recommended to avoid any last-minute hassle.
For Redskins games, general parking costs between $55 - $65. Bus and RV parking passes will cost you $100. These rates could change from season to season or as per a surge in demand. For other events, on-site FedEx Field parking rates are based on the demand, event type/size, and event rules. Off-stadium parking will cost you as low as $2 an hour or $20 a day for up to 24 hours. The cheapest rates on the FedEx Field parking chart are available online.
Finding free parking near FedEx Field is no easy challenge. Due to high demand, parking rates peak during football games and major concerts. In addition, street parking is not a viable option due to the stadium location and game/event durations. If you want to save a few bucks, pre-book your FedEx Field parking spot at an off-stadium lot using a parking app or website. Most parking lots offer discounted rates for online reservations.
Official game day parking or event parking at FedEx Field will set you back by at least $50. You can pay less than half of that and park longer at an off-stadium parking lot within walking distance. The easiest way to find these spots is to use a parking app like Way.com. You can check out the nearest parking lots and garages on the FedEx Field parking map and pick one that best suits your needs. Book at the earliest to save more with discounted rates on a guaranteed parking spot.
The designated parking spot is indicated with color and letter on your pre-booked FedEx Field parking pass. Each lot has a designated roadway for entry and exit; check directions for your allotted lot before reaching the stadium. You’ll be asked to turn back if you take the wrong route.
ADA/Accessible parking is available at FedEx Field but limited. Purple, Orange, and Green lots offer ADA parking spots on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The RedZone lot has extra wide parking spaces and permits tailgating. This lot opens one hour earlier than other FedEx Field parking lots.
You can take the Silver or Blue metro lines to the stadium via metro. However, Morgan Boulevard Metro Station is a mile’s walk from the stadium. The station may be closed before a game/event ends – make sure to check updates while planning your visit.
