Buffalo Airport is a small airport with just one terminal. There is a good selection of stores and restaurants. After the expansion, the original terminal building was converted into a baggage claim. The Departures are on the Upper Level, and the Arrivals are on the lower level. The security checkpoints, check-in Ticketing, Meet and greet area, and Airport Administration office is all on the Upper level. The passenger pick-up, Service animal relief area, Baggage claim, Parking garage, Rideshare, Waiting lounge, etc., are on the lower level.
Terminal airlines serving passengers include AirTran, American Eagle, Continental Airlines, Continental Express, Jet Blue, Comair, Northwest Airlines, Independence Air, Prior Aviation, United Express, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, and US Airways Express.
An airport information desk can be found on the ground floor of the terminal, next to the baggage claim area. Maps, local information, bus schedules, brochures, and a courtesy paging phone can all be found at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport's information desk. There are also ATMs, a post office, currency exchange services, public telephones, a newsstand, snack bars, a gift shop, a hair salon, and a play area for kids at the Terminal. Just down the hall from the baggage claim area, on the terminal's lower floor, are two information booths where visitors can get details about local transportation.

All airport-owned parking lots include accessible parking for passengers with disabilities. In addition, wheelchair-accessible shuttle buses service the long-term parking lot. The Daily/Hourly Garage offers complimentary handicapped parking for the first hour. Anyone with a valid handicap parking permit can park in the Airport's Daily/Hourly Garage for free for periods of time shorter than one hour. Patrons will be charged the going hourly rate after the first hour has elapsed.
If you have a handicapped parking permit or your license plate is marked as such, you can park for free in the Daily/Hourly Garage, but you must provide a time-stamped parking ticket. Visitors who have a valid handicapped parking permit can park in any of the long-term lots. A wheelchair lift and a knowledgeable driver are included on all airport shuttles.
The terminals of the airport are available at all hours. The last flight departs, however, at 4:00 AM, when the security checkpoint opens. The only part of the terminal where overnight stays are allowed is on the landside.
The Buffalo Niagara International Airport now offers TSA PreCheck. Members of the Trusted Traveler program of the United States Customs and Border Protection and certain frequent flyers on certain airlines are eligible for expedited screening with TSA PreCheck. All U.S. airports will soon be participating in this program. Travelers with special needs, including families with young children, get their own lane.
Keep in mind that airline check-in and baggage drop-off times, as well as TSA hours, might change. If you need to fly during these times, check with your airline. Take the Interstate 90 (New York State Thruway) and get off at exit 51 onto Route 33 East to get to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport from anywhere in the state (Kensington Expressway).
