Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) in Burbank, California, is approximately 12 miles north of Downtown Los Angeles. BUR is the closest L.A.-area Airport to most of L.A.'s most popular tourist destinations and attractions in nearby Glendale and Pasadena. The airport serves Downtown Los Angeles and the northern Greater Los Angeles area- Burbank, Glendale, Northeast Los Angeles, Universal City, Hollywood, Pasadena, Studio City, Central Los Angeles, and San Fernando Valley.
The only Airport in the vicinity with a direct rail connection to Downtown Los Angeles is Hollywood Burbank Airport, which offers service from two stations: Burbank Airport-North and Burbank Airport-South. The Burbank Airport also has short-term and long-term parking options. In addition, offsite parking options are also available.

All commercial airlines fly out of BUR's two terminals, A and B. There are a total of 14 gates between the two terminals, with nine gates in Terminal A and five gates in Terminal B. Each terminal has a separate security checkpoint and screening area.

All commercial airlines fly out of BUR's two terminals, A and B. In Terminal A, there are nine gates numbered A1 to A9. In Terminal B, there are five gates numbered B1 to B5.
Several services inside the terminals include shopping and dining options, restrooms, WiFi access, and assistance for the disabled.
The passengers can travel between the terminals via a shuttle bus or the various inter-terminal pedestrian connections. Every important area is easily accessible from the terminal by walking.
Right next to the entrance to the temporary parking garage is where you'll find the EV charger. Valet parking at the Airport is home to the charging station, along with six other Level 2 EV chargers. In addition, the BUR Valet Parking facility offers a free electric vehicle charging service. The valet service, offered by all commercial airlines, can charge your electric vehicle if needed, but only if you specifically ask for it.
Parking for persons with disabilities is located in both the Short Term and Economy Lots. Every one of the four levels of the Short-Term Parking Structure is accessible via elevator. If you park in one of those spots, you need to have a disabled parking placard. Our Economy parking lot has free shuttles that take wheelchairs every 10 to 15 minutes. Parking is plentiful for trips to and from the airport terminal.

The Transportation Security Administration keeps an eye on the security checkpoints at BUR airport. Passengers without tickets will not be allowed to pass through any of the security checks. The boarding gates are accessible from any security checkpoint.
BUR is known for its ease and convenience. The Airport is also known for its quick-moving lines at its security checkpoints. However, we recommend arriving at the Airport at least an hour before your flight is scheduled to depart.
The security checkpoint at BUR allows passengers to use the expedited TSA PreCheck lanes. Burbank Airport (BUR) allows passengers to enroll in TSA's Precheck program. Domestic flights require passengers to check in 90 minutes prior to departure; international flights require passengers to check in 2 hours prior to departure.
You can get to Burbank Airport by bus, train, shuttle taxi, rideshare, or driving down.
Metro Bus and Burbank Bus stop in the Transit Center on the ground level of the RITC. The elevated moving walkway connects it directly to the terminal below.
Transportation to the RITC is available via the Burbank Airport-South Train Station for Amtrak and Metrolink passengers. Hollywood Way and Empire Avenue both serve as bus stops for the Metro system. In addition, the Airport and the Metro North Hollywood Station are both serviced by Burbank Bus on weekdays.
Burbank Airport-South Train Station and Burbank Airport-North Train Station are two train stations available At Hollywood Burbank Airport.
The Metrolink also stops at the Burbank Airport-North Station on San Fernando Road and Hollywood Way. In addition, the Airport Authority provides a complimentary shuttle service between the Burbank Airport-North Station and the Airport terminal.
Metrolink trains currently serve the following routes: Burbank Airport-South Train Station and the Burbank Airport-North Train Station.
The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner provides weekly and weekend service to the Airport, which travels between Santa Barbara and San Diego and stops at the Burbank Airport-South Train Station.
South Train Station
Shuttle service to and from the Burbank Airport-South Station is provided free of charge and on demand by the Airport. From 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Service is offered daily, 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
North Train Station
Shuttle service to and from the Burbank Airport-North Train Station is provided free of charge and on demand by the Airport. Service is offered daily, 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Taxi cabs can be found on the ground transportation islands in front of the Airport terminals.
The ride-sharing company pick-up point is located at the ground transportation island across from the Terminal B entrance.
Drive Golden State Freeway 5 southbound and turn right into Hollywood Parkway.
Drive Golden State Freeway 5 northbound and turn left into Hollywood Parkway.
Drive Ventura Freeway 101, turn left into Hollywood Freeway 170 and turn right into Victory Boulevard. From Victory Boulevard, turn left to Hollywood Parkway.
Drive Foothill Freeway 210, turn into Golden State Freeway 5 northbound and turn left into Hollywood Parkway.
Celebrities sometimes will use the alternative airport in California to bypass a lot of the "craziness" that can come from traveling via LAX airport. The Hollywood Burbank Airport is a "quieter" airport for celebrities who want to avoid the crowds of fans and photographers at LAX.
Costs for flights departing from Burbank are often higher than those departing from Los Angeles International Airport.
You are advised to arrive at the Airport at least an hour before your flight is scheduled to depart. However, during peak travel times, it is recommended that you arrive at least two hours before your departure time.
Burbank is only 11.6 miles from Los Angeles, California. Via I-5 N. With daytime traffic, the drive is about 30 minutes by car.
