There are two indoor parking lots at the Navy Pier, located on-site at Festival Hall Loading Dock, between Dock Street and East Grand Avenue. You can access both the East Navy Pier parking garage and West Navy Pier parking garage via Illinois Street and Lake Shore Drive. The entrances and exits to the lots are located on East Grand Avenue, and the valet parking stand is at Entrance 1, between the two garages. Navy Pier parking garages have a combined capacity of 1500 cars; oversized trucks and vans can be parked at the East Garage. Few businesses offer parking validation for valet parking at the Navy Pier.
Self-parking rates at the Navy Pier parking garages start at $16 for an hour, going up to a daily maximum of $53. Valet parking with validation at the Sable and other participating restaurants/shops costs $20 for up to 4 hours, $35 for up to 8 hours, and $55 for 12 hours. Special event parking for up to 12 hours also costs $55, while overnight valet parking at the Sable costs $69. Discounted parking at a few off-site garages nearby is also available with validation from the Navy Pier Guest Services Desk. These rates are subject to change; always confirm before your visit.
While you can get discounts on valet parking at the Navy Pier parking garage and a few off-site garages with parking validation, free parking is not available at any parking lot near the pier. Street parking near Navy Pier is minimal and mostly metered. The closest free street parking you could find is on E Grand Avenue, opposite Jane Addams Memorial. However, there are only a few spots here, and No-parking starts at 5 pm on all days of the week. You might find free parking space on E Ontario Street, between McClurg Court and Fairbanks Court.
The daily maximum parking rate at 474 Self Park on Lake Shore Drive is $38 – it’s cheaper than the on-site parking garage rates and conveniently located close to the pier. But if you are up for a quick walk, you’ll find cheaper options further down Grand Avenue. Log on to a Chicago parking app or website to check out the best deals at premium parking lots near the Navy Pier. Many garages offer special discounts on online reservations when you pre-book your spot on a parking app.
Street parking spots are usually full when the Navy Pier is open. It is impossible to have a stress-free visit without worrying about maximum parking time limits and expiring meters. Unless it is a quick stop, avoid parking on the streets.
Parking beyond 24 hours from the time of entry at the Navy Pier parking garage will incur additional charges. Overnight parking is available at off-site lots near the pier, and you can pre-book a spot for the best rates online.
