Chicago Midway International Airport, often known as Midway Airport, Chicago Midway, and Midway is a large commercial airport located eight miles south of downtown Chicago. Midway Airport MDW is the second-largest airport in Chicago and Illinois (behind O'Hare), servicing Greater Chicago and the adjacent counties. The airport can be chaotic as it serves over 22 million passengers annually. An MDW Airport map and Chicago Midway Airport parking map will make navigating this chaos easy.
Midway Airport offers hourly, daily, and economy parking onsite. On the Chicago Midway Airport parking map, you can spot the location of these garages. There are also several offsite MDW parking lots quite close to the airport for anyone interested in more affordable parking options.
The Department of Aviation of Chicago manages the airport. It is easily accessible through the Stevenson Expressway in less than 30 minutes from the heart of Chicago.

Chicago Midway Airport features one passenger terminal with three linked Concourses A, B, and C, which are all accessible after security from the top level's Central Market. The exact location of the concourses may be found on the Midway Chicago Airport map.
The airport's road network separates Chicago Midway Airport's terminal and security area. Therefore, passengers must first enter the terminal building and clear security before entering the concourse sections. A pedestrian bridge joins these two structures.
The terminal parking garage is attached to the terminal building, and the Midway Metro Station is directly behind the terminal parking garage. Refer to the Chicago Midway Airport parking map above for their locations.
Ticketing is on the upper level, while baggage claim is on the lower level of the terminal. Under the pedestrian bridge leading to the departure concourses, curbside access is provided in front of the terminal.
After crossing the bridge, travelers must pass through security to reach the secure area.
There is no need for ground transportation within MDW because the airport has only one terminal and three concourses, all of which are connected to one another. Therefore, it is not necessary for passengers to re-clear security to walk between the concourses at this airport unless they are arriving on an international flight.
At Midway Airport, there are a total of 3 level II EV charging stations. One is located in the Cell Phone Lot, while the remaining two are in the Economy Garage.
There are parking places for disabled passengers in the terminal garage, daily, and economy parking lots. In addition, all parking shuttle buses are equipped with lifts and tie-downs for wheelchair accessibility.
On level 1, the Terminal Garage has a clearance height of 8 feet 8 inches, while the Economy Parking garage has a clearance height of 8 feet 2 inches.
There are two pet relief sites in MDW, and they are located:
Across the bridge from the terminal at MDW is one large security checkpoint with several lanes. The checkpoint is open every day between 03:30 and 23:00.
Daily from 4:30 am to 8:00 pm, TSA PreCheck lanes are available at the airport's security checkpoint. Unfortunately, MDW is not equipped with a TSA Enrollment Center.
CTA trains serve MDW via the orange lane from the Midway CTA Station, which is located adjacent to the airport. The train ride from the airport to downtown Chicago takes 20-25 minutes and operates daily between 4 am and 1 am.
Between the terminal building and Midway station, there is a covered walkway. Ticket vending machines at the terminal accept cash and credit cards to purchase train tickets.
CTA serves Midway Airport with nine different lines. Midway Transportation Center is in the same area as Midway CTA station, where buses drop off and pick up passengers.
Taxis are readily accessible at the lower-level curbside of the terminal and should be equipped with meters to charge passengers. The fare from Midway Airport to downtown Chicago is around $40 -$45.
Rideshare companies like Lyft and Uber operate out of MDW, and they can pick up passengers on the level of the baggage claim area that is located outside door 4.
Chicago Midway Airport is on 5700 S Cicero Ave, around 8 miles from downtown and 12 miles from the Loop.
Chicago Midway Airport covers only one square mile and serves over 20 million passengers annually.
You can take one of the CTA trains, buses, and private shuttles or grab a taxi or rideshare from MDW Airport to downtown Chicago.
Delta Air Lines, North Country Sky Airlines, Porter Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Volaris Airlines fly out of Chicago Midway Airport.
Chicago Midway Airport is a little over 26 miles from O'Hare Airport, a 30 to 35-minute drive, depending on traffic.
