Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is one of the oldest airports in the US, continuously operating since its opening in 1940. From a simple airport with a single terminal, the airport has expanded to seven terminal buildings: A-West, A-East, B, C, D, E, and F. PHL has 126 gates in total, with Terminal F accounting for 38 gates for regional aircraft.

PHL Terminal A
PHL Terminal A welcomes international flyers. The terminal is divided into A-West and A-East. A-West has 13 gates and operates international flights. A-East has 12 gates and serves both international and domestic flights. The terminal also houses Customs and Border Protection in the Global Entry Enrollment Center.

PHL Terminal B
PHL Terminal B has 16 gates: B1 through B16 for active use. All gates are dedicated to handling American Airlines flights. The terminal also houses several eateries. The gates are arranged so that you can find the even-numbered gates on the right side, and odd-numbered gates are on the left side of the terminal.
PHL Terminal C
Terminal C in Philadelphia has 15 gates and is connected to Terminal B on one side and Terminal D on the other. Gates C16-C31 in Terminal C are arranged like to those in Terminal B. The even-numbered gates are on the left side, and the odd-numbered gates are on the right side from the terminal entry. Only Gate C16 is on floor 1; all the other gates are on floor 2 of the terminal’s airside. The terminal exclusively serves American Airlines.
PHL Terminal C provides amenities such as drinking water points, multiple charging stations, information centers, and restrooms. You can also find a customer service counter for American Airlines travelers. Several eateries are also available near the C Gates.
PHL Terminal D
Terminal D has 16 gates and is connected to Terminal C and Terminal E. Travelers parking at Garage D can access the D Gates on floor 2 after completing TSA processing in the D/E connection. After completing the security process, travelers can proceed to the right and access the concourse towards Terminal D. Upon arriving at the main terminal gate area, you can find places to eat and convenience stores to purchase from before boarding the flights.

Terminal D connects to Terminal E through the D/E Connector. This area also provides access to several lounges. The baggage claim area and boarding gates of the terminal are also shared with JetBlue, Alaska Airlines, and Sun Country, though their ticketing is handled in Terminal E.
PHL Terminal E
Terminal E has 17 gates on floor 2. The terminal serves domestic flights including:
- Allegiant
- Frontier
- Southwest
Travelers can also find the ticket counters for JetBlue, Alaska Airlines, and Sun Country. At the same time, their baggage claim and gates are listed at Terminal D. As the terminal is connected to Terminal D, travelers can access additional dining, shopping, and passenger services.
PHL Terminal F
Terminal F has 38 gates: F1 – F38. It is primarily designed to serve regional airline operations. American Eagle operates from Terminal F. American Eagle’s baggage claim, gates, and ticketing is located at Terminal F.
The terminal also has its own food court, restaurants, shops, charging stations, and lounges on floor 2.
Shuttle connection to PHL terminals
Passengers can use a free shuttle between Terminal F and the other terminal areas. The shuttle operates from Gate F-14 and connects with Gate C-16 for Terminals C, D, and B and Gate A-1 for Terminals A-East and A-West.
The shuttle can be useful when connecting between Terminal F and the opposite end of the terminal complex. Passengers can also walk between terminals on the secure side. Travelers arriving at the airport via shuttle with offsite parking will be dropped off at Zone 3.
TSA checkpoints at PHL
TSA checkpoints are located on the second floor of each Departures terminal building. Travelers can use any open checkpoint to access the connected terminal complex. Lounges and other rest areas in PHL
The Delta Sky Club is in the D/E Connector. You can access the lounge from 4:30 a.m.; the closing time varies. Sunday to Friday, the club is open until 6:15 p.m., and on Saturdays it is open until 6:30 in the evening.
You can locate the United Club on the Philadelphia terminal map near Terminal on floor 2. Eligible travelers can enjoy the comfort of this lounge from 5 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily.
Two Chase Sapphire lounges are open near the D/E connector. The lounges on floors 2 and 3 are open between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily.
