Question

Can you take a ceramic-coated car through a car wash?

While it’s possible to take your car to the car wash after a ceramic coating, it’s highly discouraged since it can damage the coating.

We don’t recommend taking your car straight to an automatic car wash after a ceramic coating. This is because most automatic car washes still use abrasive brushes and harsh chemicals to clean your car’s exterior. Cleaning your car with this method can cause more harm than good. It can deteriorate the ceramic coating.

What to do now?

It’s best to wait 5-14 days before getting your car washed after the ceramic coating. This period ensures that your coating is completely cured. After the curing period, you can take your car for a wash. But remember, the first wash should be extremely gentle. So, no automatic car washes. Instead, go for touchless car washes.
