What do I do if I lost my GA driver's license?

If you have lost your GA driver’s license, replacement is convenient, with extensive online and offline services available.

You must apply for a replacement immediately after you’ve lost your GA license. Consequently, file a police complaint to report the lost license. In case of any fraudulent activity, you can report it at reportfraud@dds.ga.gov or call (678) 413-8766. 

How to replace a lost GA license

You can request a replacement in person, online, or through the DDS to Go app. 

There are two ways in which you can replace your GA driver’s license online. Firstly, through the DDS online service portal and, secondly, through the DDS 2 Go app.   

• Create an account with the website or on the app.  
• Fill in the necessary details and submit the required documents.  
• Make the payment. 
• You will receive the license via mail within 45 days.  

But commercial driver’s license owners are not allowed to replace their license online. 

If you are to replace a GA driver’s license in person, you can do so through the nearest customer service centers once you submit the Category A and B documents and make the payment.  

How long does it take to get a replacement GA license?

It can take from a month to forty-five days to get a replacement license in Georgia after applying.

How much is a duplicate license in GA?

The cost to replace a lost driver’s license in GA, if you have at least 150 days left on your GA driver’s license, is $10. However, if your driver’s license is going to expire in less than 150 days, you need to renew it and pay the renewal fee of $32.
