LACMA Parking FAQ

Where can I find on-site LACMA parking?

During peak visiting hours, valet-assisted, stack parking is provided at no additional charge. Free EV charging stations are also available on Level P1, on a first-come-first-serve basis. Parking passes are available for LACMA members; however, having a Member Parking Pass does not guarantee a space at the Pritzker Parking Garage. Additional parking is available at metered street spots and garages on Sixth Street and Wilshire Boulevard.

How much is parking at LACMA?

Self-parking at the on-site Pritzker Parking Garage is available for a flat rate of $16; if you enter after 7 pm, the rate reduces to $8. LACMA parking fee at La Brea Tar Pits and Museum Lot nearby is $15. The daily maximum rate at LACMA - Wilshire Courtyard Garage is $23. Other parking lots and garages located on Wilshire Boulevard charge flat rates of $8 - $15. On average, metered street parking in the neighborhood costs $1 for an hour. Free parking is also allowed on Sixth Street, Masselin Avenue, and other streets in the vicinity.

Where can I find free parking around LACMA?

Even though there are plenty of parking lots and garages nearby, finding a free off-street parking space is almost impossible. The Museum Row neighborhood sees high demand for parking space, and even street parking can be challenging, especially those available free of charge. However, you can look for free parking around LACMA on Sixth Street, Orange Street, Cresent Heights Boulevard, Eighth Street, and Hauser Boulevard. You might also find a few parking spots on Wilshire Boulevard, right outside LACMA Sculpture Garden.

How can I find cheap parking near LACMA?

For cheaper parking rates at premium garages near LACMA, book your spot using an LA parking app or website. Online reservations often come with special rates or exclusive discounts. You can also compare all the parking deals near the museum and choose one that best suits your needs. Park further away from the Museum for cheaper rates and book your spot ahead of your visit to avoid drive-up rate hikes during peak visiting hours.

LACMA Parking Tips

The entrance to the Pritzker Parking Garage is on Sixth Street, east of Fairfax Avenue and opposite Ogden Drive. You can also park at Petersen Museum on Orange Grove Avenue and Museum Square or Page Museum on Curson Avenue. Orange Grove is south of Wilshire Boulevard, and Curson Avenue is in the opposite direction.

LACMA is closed on Wednesdays, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Hancock Park, which contains the museum and La Brea Tar Pits, is open from 6 am to 10 pm. However, the museum opens at 11 am on weekdays, and 10 am on Saturdays and Sundays.

If you are parked on the street or at an off-site garage nearby, use the pedestrian gate on the corner of Sixth and Fairfax. Off Sixth Street, the other pedestrian gate is only open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 10 am to 9 pm. There can be changes to these hours during special events.
