Love Field Airport FAQs

You must arrive at Love Field Airport at least 90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours) before your flight's scheduled departure time.

Love Field Airport has only one terminal. Southwest uses Gates 1-10, 12, and 14-20 in that terminal.

At Dallas Love Field Airport, 16 of the 20 gates are used by Southwest Airlines.

President George W. Bush signed a bill into law on October 13, 2006, which says that international commercial flights cannot leave the airport because of the Wright Amendment repeal and the 20-gate limit. Southwest must give up one Love Field gate if it starts flying from any other North Texas airport before 2025.

At DAL Airport, all of the airlines use just one terminal. This makes Dallas Love Field much less busy and easier to get around.

There is a shuttle from DFW to Love Field, but you must take the DART Rail Orange Line first. From Terminal A, take the Orange Line for 38 minutes to the Inwood/Love Field Station. Once you reach the station, take a 12-minute ride on the Love Link 55 shuttle bus.

Dallas Love Field Airport is 15.3 miles, a 25-minute drive from Dallas Fort Worth Airport.

Garage A is only a 5-minute walk to the ticketing hall and is closest to the terminal.

Eligible veterans can get complimentary garage parking at Dallas Love Field Airport. There is no information about parking rates for disabled passengers.

Parking at Garage A costs $16, while Garage B charges $13 for Covered Levels and $10 for Roof Uncovered. Garage C costs $16 for Covered Levels and $13 for Roof Uncovered. Contactless Valet has a daily rate of $28. Cheap offsite DAL parking is available for as low as $3/day.
