The Music Concourse Garage inside the Golden Gate Park is the official California Academy of Sciences parking lot. The accessible underground garage is less than a minute’s walk away from the main entrance; however, it is not operated by the Academy. You can enter the California Academy of Sciences parking garage via Fulton Street/10th Avenue on the north or Music Concourse Drive/MLK Drive on the south; it is open from 7 am to 7 pm on all days of the week.
You’ll find free street parking outside the Academy on Nancy Pelosi Drive, MLK Drive, and Stow Lake Drive. However, finding a vacant spot at these locations would be easier during weekdays. Arrive early in the day to park close to the Academy. You can park up to three or four hours on Nancy Pelosi Drive and MLK Drive; there’s all-day street parking around Stow Lake Drive. The closest metered parking spots are on Balboa Street, Irving Street, and Ninth Avenue. There are more free parking spots on Fulton Street, Lincoln Way, and almost all other streets nearby.
Hourly rates at the Music Concourse Garage are $5.25 on weekdays and $6.25 on weekends and evenings (after 5:30 pm). The maximum weekday rate is $29, and on weekends, the daily maximum is $33. Monthly parking at the garage will cost you $240. The Academy does not operate this garage, and SFMTA sets the pricing; prices and operational hours are subject to change.
