There are two large parking lots on the western side of Lands end, near the Sutro Baths and Cliff House. Fort Miley Parking lot is on El Camino Del Mar – head north towards Fort Miley from 48th Avenue or turn right from Point Lobos Avenue. The Merry Way parking lot is on Point Lobos Avenue, above the Cliff House. Parking is limited on the park's eastern side; you might find street parking spots on El Camino Del Mar or park at the China Beach lot. You could also try the free parking lot on Legion of Honor Drive, off Clement Street, or the lot near the VA medical center on Veterans Drive.

The upper trail starts from the right side of the Fort Miley parking lot, while the Coastal Trail starts from the Merrie Way parking lot above the Cliff House. You can also walk down the stairs to the Sutro Baths and Point Lobos Observation Deck from this lot.
