Question

How to start your car without a key?

There are different ways you can start your car, even without a key fob. Most common methods include using a keycode, a remote starter or in worst case scenario, a screwdriver.

Dead key fob? Here are other ways you can start your car:

Method 1: Using a Key Code: Locate a unique sequence of numbers in your car’s owner’s manual. This is the key code. Enter this code into your car’s ignition using the numerical keypad on the driver’s side door/ dashboard, and your car will start right up.

Method 2: Using a Remote Starter: If your car has a remote starter installed, activate it by pressing the button on the remote starter’s key fob. This will start the car and keep it running until you manually turn it off.

Method 3: Using a Screwdriver: In emergency situations, you can even use a screwdriver to start the car. For this, remove the ignition cover and locate the starter wire (thick wire connected to the ignition switch). Now touch the starter wire to the positive battery terminal and your car will start.

Method 4: Using a Smartphone App: Some manufacturers have developed smartphone apps that can help start your car as long as you have an internet connection. Once the app has been downloaded and your car has been registered, you can simply start your car by pressing the start button on the app.
