Question
What is Parksense?
ParkSense is a parking assist system that enhances parking safety through alerts and driver assistance. Its operation depends on whether your vehicle is equipped with Rear Park Assist or Active Park Assist.
The ParkSense Rear Park Assist uses sensors to warn you about obstacles behind your car when you’re reversing below seven mph, using beeps and a dashboard light. With the semi-automatic Active Park Assist, the car steers itself while parking, but you still control the gas, brakes, and gears.
To activate the Park Assist, you need to press the ParkSense button with the P symbol and a steering wheel icon on the center stack of your vehicle. On the touchscreen, select “Parallel” or “Perpendicular” parking, then press OK. Signal left or right for parking direction.
Drive until the system beeps, indicating a suitable spot. Remove your hands from the wheel and follow the driver information screen’s instructions, controlling speed with the pedals.
To exit a parallel spot, select “Parallel Park Exit” after pressing the ParkSense button.
