Navigating a large airport is much easier when you know where everything is before you arrive. Whether you’re catching a flight, meeting someone, or connecting through Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, using an airport map can help you find the right terminal, gate, parking ramp, or transportation option without unnecessary delays.

Official MSP Airport Parking Maps

Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport is organized around two passenger terminals:

  • Terminal 1: 4300 Glumack Drive, St. Paul, MN 55111
  • Terminal 2: 7150 Humphrey Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55450

The two terminals are served by separate roadways. Terminal 1 is reached from Minnesota Highway 5 and Glumack Drive, while Terminal 2 is accessed from Interstate 494 and 34th Avenue South.

This split-terminal layout is one of the most important things to understand when using an MSP Airport map. If you drive toward the wrong terminal, you’ll need to use the airport roadway or free light rail connection to reach the other terminal, so confirm your terminal before you leave.

MSP Airport Driving Map

The airport's road network connects MSP with the Twin Cities freeway system. Minnesota Highway 5 provides the main landside approach to Terminal 1, while Terminal 2 is accessed from I-494 and 34th Avenue South.

The airport is also surrounded by major highways, including Minnesota Highway 5, Minnesota Highway 77, Minnesota Highway 62, and I-494. These connections make MSP accessible from Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding communities.

Driving to Terminal 1

Terminal 1 is accessed from Minnesota Highway 5 and Glumack Drive. Drivers approaching from different parts of the Twin Cities can connect to Highway 5 through the area's interstate network.

Because Terminal 1 has its own roadway system, follow signs for Terminal 1 rather than simply following general MSP Airport signs.

Driving to Terminal 2

Terminal 2 is accessed from I-494 and 34th Avenue South. If Terminal 2 is your destination, follow signs for Terminal 2/Humphrey and avoid following directions intended for Terminal 1.

MSP Airport pickup and drop-off

MSP does not allow vehicles to park or remain unattended at the terminal curb. The curb is intended for active passenger loading and unloading. Drivers picking up passengers should wait elsewhere until the traveler is outside and ready to be picked up. Unattended vehicles may be ticketed or towed.

For longer waits, MSP recommends using one of its free cell phone waiting lots instead of circling the terminal roadway.

Terminal 1 pickup and drop-off: Terminal 1 has designated roadway areas for passenger pickup and drop-off. MSP also has a FLEX Lane in the upper-level Departures loop that provides another option for some passenger trips.

Terminal 2 pickup and drop-off: Terminal 2 offers an Express Drop-off/Pickup area beside the skyway on Level 2 of the Purple Ramp. The area provides a climate-controlled alternative to the main terminal roadway. Drivers who need to wait longer can continue into the Hourly Parking area.

MSP Airport accessibility and navigation

MSP provides accessible transportation, mobility assistance, and accessibility maps for travelers who need them. A complimentary shuttle with a wheelchair lift is available as an alternative to the light rail for passengers with mobility challenges and other special needs. The airport’s accessibility program covers mobility, cognitive, hearing, vision, and family-related needs.

Lost & Found

For items lost inside the airport terminals, contact the MSP Lost and Found office at 612-726-5141, or submit an online report through MSP’s website. The office is located on the valet level of Terminal 1 (take the elevators from the ticketing or baggage claim level down, then turn left) and is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and weekends and federal holidays, 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

For items lost on an aircraft or in an airline-controlled area, like a gate or airline club, contact your airline directly, Or, call MSP’s general information line at 612-726-5555 (8 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily) for your airline’s lost and found contact.

If you suspect your item was stolen, contact the MSP Airport Police Department at 612-726-5577 to file a theft report; the Lost and Found office cannot investigate theft claims.

MSP Airport Map FAQs

What should I do if I miss my terminal's highway exit?

Continue to the next safe exit, then follow highway signs back toward the correct terminal exit. There's no shortcut between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 on airport property, so build in a few extra minutes if this happens.

I'm dropping someone off at one terminal and flying out of the other. Can I do that in one trip?

Yes, but you'll need to fully exit and re-enter the airport roadway system for each terminal, since there's no direct connecting road between them. Budget extra driving time for the detour.

Can you drive directly from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 at MSP?

Yes. The terminals are connected by the airport’s roadway network, but they are accessed from separate roadways. The airport also provides free METRO Blue Line service between the terminals.

What is the easiest way to avoid getting lost at MSP?

Confirm your terminal before driving, use the correct terminal roadway, identify your parking or pickup location in advance, and follow MSP’s airport signs once you arrive. If you need to move between terminals, use the free METRO Blue Line rather than trying to navigate between them on foot.
