Top-Rated Available LAX Airport Parking with Free Shuttle
LAX Valet Parking is the most convenient official parking option at Los Angeles International Airport. Instead of driving around a parking structure looking for an open space, you drop off your vehicle at a valet area and let the staff handle the parking. LAX currently offers valet service in Parking Structures P1, P3, P4, and P7. The LAX Central Terminal Area parking structures are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
| Detail | LAX Valet Parking |
|---|---|
| Valet locations | P1, P3, P4, P7 |
| Drive-up rate | $75 maximum per 24 hours |
| Pre-booking | Available |
| Terminal access | About 1-2 minutes |
| EV charging | Available in P1, P3, P4 and P7 |
Valet costs more than LAX’s lower-priced parking options, but it is designed for travelers who want to save time and minimize the work involved in parking.
Where is LAX Valet Parking located?
LAX currently offers valet parking in four Central Terminal Area structures: P1, P3, P4, P7
Follow the current roadway signs to your selected valet structure and check which one is closest to your terminal before you arrive. The CTA parking structures sit inside the terminal loop.
How much is LAX Valet Parking?
The current LAX drive-up valet rate is $75 maximum for each 24-hour period, with a 24-hour minimum.
The 24-hour minimum is important if you are comparing valet with hourly parking. LAX valet is not designed to be the lowest-cost choice for a quick airport visit. The higher price reflects the added convenience of having staff park your vehicle and the short walk to the terminal.
LAX Valet Parking vs. Offsite valet: The cost difference
Official LAX valet isn’t the only valet option near the airport. Several offsite parking providers near LAX also offer valet service, typically starting around $7 per day.
Official LAX valet keeps your car within the Central Terminal Area itself, so you can walk from the valet area to your terminal. Offsite valet offers a shuttle ride to and from the airport. If you’re fine with a short shuttle ride in exchange for a dramatically lower cost, offsite valet delivers most of the same hands-off convenience for a much smaller price tag. For specific offsite valet listings and rates, see the LAX Airport Parking page.
| LAX Valet Parking | Offsite Valet | |
|---|---|---|
| Daily rate | $75/day (Pre-book from $32/day) | Starting at $7/day |
| Covered | ✔ | Varies by facility |
| Staffed 24/7 | ✔ | Varies by facility |
| Paved | ✔ | Varies by facility |
| Height clearance | P3, P4: 7 feet, 6 inches P1, P7: 8 feet, 2 inches | Varies by facility |
If you drive a tall SUV, van, truck, or other high-profile vehicle, check the clearance for the particular valet structure before entering. Do not assume that all four valet locations have the same height limit.
Valet vs. General and Premium CTA Parking
General, Premium, and Valet are all available within the Central Terminal Area, but availability varies by parking structure and the type of parking you choose:
- General Parking ($9 first hour, $7 per additional 30 minutes; $11 first hour and $9 per additional 30 minutes at P3 and P4; $60 daily max): You park and walk to your terminal yourself.
- Premium Parking ($11 first hour, $9 per additional 30 minutes, $70 daily max, available at P1, P3, and P7 Arrivals level): Closer, more convenient spaces within the same structures.
- Valet Parking ($75 daily max, 24-hour minimum): An attendant parks and retrieves your car; you’ll never have to search for a space or walk back to your vehicle.
Can you reserve LAX Valet Parking?
Yes. LAX offers advance valet reservations, and pre-booking offers can provide savings compared with the drive-up rate. Advance booking can also be useful during busy travel periods. However, actual reservation prices vary by date and availability. The airport’s reservation system also lets customers manage their booking before arrival.
What happens if you overstay a valet reservation?
When a reserved vehicle remains in the parking facility for more than two hours after the reservation ends, a new parking session begins at the posted rates. Additional payment is required before the vehicle can exit. That rule is especially important if a flight delay significantly changes your return time.
How long can you leave a car at LAX Valet Parking?
LAX allows vehicles to remain in its Central Terminal Area parking structures for up to 30 days. Vehicles parked longer than 30 days are subject to impound at the owner’s expense unless an extension is arranged with ABM. This is an airport parking rule rather than a valet-only limit. If you need to know more about the rules and other parking information, see the LAX airport Long-Term Parking page.
How close is LAX Valet Parking to the terminals?
LAX valet parking is about a 1-2 minute walk from the terminals.
That proximity is one of the main differences between valet and LAX’s more distant parking options. LAX Economy Parking and Budget Parking are outside the immediate terminal loop and requires shuttle service, while the valet locations are inside the Central Terminal Area. The exact walking time can still depend on the structure you use, your terminal, the pedestrian route available that day, and current construction conditions.
Does LAX Valet Parking have EV charging?
Yes. LAX offers EV charging facilities in the P1, P3, and P4 Valet Parking garages. According to LAX, there are over 700 EV chargers in the LAX Central Terminal Area (CTA) parking structures, with P1, P3, and P4 structures accounting for around 300 charging systems. The current EV charging rate is $2 per session plus $0.45 per kWh. The EV charging rate is separate from the parking cost, and there are no idle fees.
Tips for using LAX Valet Parking
- Check your vehicle’s clearance. P1 and P7 Valet have 8 feet, 2 inches height limit, while P3 and P4 have a 7-foot-6-inch limit.
- Reserve ahead of time. LAX currently advertises valet pre-booking. Availability and pricing vary.
- Remember the 24-hour minimum. Valet is not intended as the lowest-cost option for a brief airport stop.
- Allow for construction-related changes. Follow current airport roadway signs because LAX traffic patterns and construction conditions can change.
- Check EV availability before your trip. EV charging is available in Valet Parking structures, but charging availability can change.
- Compare offsite valet options if cost matters more. Offsite valet lots listed on Way often cost much less than official LAX valet
