The 1.5 million sq ft Terminal 4 JFK originally opened in 2001 and replaced the airport’s old International Arrivals Building, which opened in 1957. Over the years, the terminal has undergone facelifts and is currently one of the busiest terminals in the airport. On average, close to 59,000 passengers use JFK Terminal 4, making it a busy international travel hub.

The terminal is on the southern side of the airport. There are two concourses (A and B) with a total of 43 gates. Terminal 4 at JFK has four main areas – the concourse level, departure level, arrival level, and an exclusive Delta check-in area.
The terminal’s east side has Concourse A, with 16 gates numbered A2-A7, A9-A12, A14-A17, A19, and A21. The lower level of the concourse has gates from A9 to A21. On the other hand, Concourse B is on the west side of the terminal. The gates are numbered B20, B22-B39, B41-B49, and B51. The lower level of the concourse features gates from B42 to B51.
