Way.com clarifies its position following the City of New York’s August 2024 lawsuit regarding unlicensed parking operators near JFK Airport. The company reiterates that it does not own or manage parking lots and has implemented strict license verification for all New York City partners.

Fremont, CA – October 1, 2025: Way.com has reaffirmed its commitment to consumer safety and regulatory compliance following the City of New York’s August 2024 lawsuit concerning unlicensed parking operators near John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The company emphasized that it does not own or operate any parking facilities and functions solely as a digital marketplace that connects travelers with independent parking providers.

In a statement to the media, Way.com co-founder Bhumi Bhutani said, “We have been in compliance every single step of the way.” She added that the company requires all New York City parking partners to provide proof of an active city license before being listed: “We’ve asked them to provide us with a registered license that is from the City of New York.

A company spokesperson further stated, “Way.com’s mission is to make parking safe, reliable, and transparent for everyone. We fully support the City’s goal of protecting consumers from unlicensed operators and have already taken extensive measures to align with those requirements.”

Following the city’s notification, Way.com reviewed and confirmed that any listings connected to unlicensed operators were promptly removed. The company also introduced enhanced verification processes to ensure continued compliance. Way.com says these measures reflect its continued focus on transparency and consumer protection.

Way.com continues to review partner qualifications nationwide and remains dedicated to providing drivers with licensed, verified, and trustworthy parking options across all markets.
