The Atlanta Airport terminal map can be an invaluable tool for navigating this large and busy airport’s hallways, gates and shops. Atlanta’s Hartfield Jackson Airport (ATL) is the busiest airport in the world, handling over 90 million passengers (more than twice the population of California!) each day. The airport is divided into concourses and terminal based on the airline or destination of the flight.

The Domestic Terminal is composed of Concourse T, and seven additional concourses – A, B, C, D, E, F, and G – number outwards from the Domestic Terminal. Each terminal and concourse has a distinct set of gates sectioned off by color-coded walls.

Atlanta Airport Terminal Map

To help you navigate the airport we will explore the Atlanta Airport domestic terminal map and the Atlanta Airport international terminal map in more detail.

All about the Atlanta Airport Domestic Terminal

ATL Domestic Terminal

The domestic terminal at Atlanta Airport is located on the airport's west side. The domestic terminal complex is split into three sections:

  • North Terminal
  • South Terminal
  • Main Terminal

Only ticketing, check-in, and baggage claim are handled in the North and South Terminals. ATL’s domestic terminal contains Concourses A to D and T, which are positioned parallel to one another.

The Ground Transportation Center, a 3-level atrium in the middle surrounded by restaurants and retail outlets, a Main Security Checkpoint, access to Concourse T gates, Plane Train access to the satellite concourses A-F, and International Baggage Claim are all located in the Main Terminal. The USO Center is located on level 3 of the atrium.

Levels

Atlanta Airport is divided into the following levels

  • Level 0: This level houses the Plane Train, which transports passengers between Concourses and Satellites.
  • Ground Level: Houses Arrivals, including luggage claim.
  • Level 2: There is also a ticketing and departures area, as well as a baggage claim facility.
  • Concourse T: It is the only Atlanta Airport concourse that connects to the Domestic Main Terminal. Both the left side (T9–T15) and the right side (T1–T8) of the concourse have their own checkpoints. Find the entrance to the Plane Train, which serves Concourses A to F and the International Terminal, in the middle of the airport, between T8 and T9 (baggage claim). There are services and amenities all over the Concourse.

Levels

The Atlanta Airport International Terminal has the following levels:

  • Level 0: Arrivals and Plane Train.
  • Level U: Arrivals and the Tunnel to E level.
  • Level 1: Daily Parking.
  • Level 2: Departures area and ticketing. Travelers should go to the security checkpoint to get entry to Concourses F and E, where gates are located.
  • Level 3 Mezzanine: This is where most of the airport services like VIP lounges, personal services, and corporate services are located.

Concourses

The Atlanta Airport International Terminal has only two concourses:

  • Concourse E: E boarding gates are accessible from the core of the International Terminal. There are various amenities available from there, including food, beverage, and retail concessions, airline counters, and several lounges. E1 through E37 are the boarding gates. The Arrivals level connects to the E and F concourses.

How to get between Terminals at Atlanta Airport

Before security

  • The airport shuttle service allows you to transfer between the domestic and international terminals of the Atlanta airport without going through security.
  • You must access the South Terminal baggage claim area by gate W2 if you are arriving from the MARTA station or other entry points on the west side of the Domestic Terminal. Follow the signs to Land Transport, where you can catch the shuttle bus (Terminal Connector Shuttle) to the International Terminal.
  • If, on the other hand, your airline permits you to check in for your international flight from the domestic terminal, you can ride the Plane Train straight to Concourse F. You can catch the shuttle bus from the International Terminal by entering at gates A1, A2, or A3. The bus travel between terminals takes around 15 minutes.
  • Also, the International Terminal Connector, which operates every 15 minutes, connects the International Terminal to the Automobile Rental Center. The shuttle bus departs from the north end of the station via the A1, A2, or A3 gates.

SkyTrain

The Domestic Terminal Complex, West Parking Deck, Gateway Center, and Rental Car Center are all connected by SkyTrain. The total duration of the trip is 10 minutes, including 3 minutes spent waiting at the stations during the day and 10 minutes during the night. The SkyTrain always available 24/7.

Although the SkyTrain can be used by anybody, not just arriving passengers, the most popular stop is the Rental Car Center, which is just around five minutes away from the domestic terminal. Automobiles.

The Georgia International Convention Center and the hotels Marriott Gateway Hotel, Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel, and SpringHill Suites Gateway Hotel are all within walking distance of the airport, so if you're staying nearby, take the light rail to the Gateway Center station.

After security

Level 0 is home to the airport's free and convenient Plane Train, which is a great way to get to and from the terminals and lobbies after passing through security. The automated subway train (people mover) makes a 3-mile loop with stops in concourses T, A, B, C, D, and E between the Domestic Terminal (baggage claim) and Concourse F (International Terminal).

There are automated announcements and maps available for passengers on the next plane train, as well as a countdown timer to notify them of its impending arrival. Every two minutes, it departs, and it works nonstop.
