About Austin Airport

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is the city's primary airport and Texas' third busiest (after Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston). Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is the biggest outside of the densely populated districts of Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston. That's why it's a good idea to check an Austin Airport Terminal Map before heading there.

AUS is only 6 miles southeast of Austin, providing for a quick drive to the airport. For passengers who want to drive to the airport, there are several parking choices at ABIA, including valet, on-site, and offsite places that need a shuttle ride to the terminal. Of course, the closer your spot is to the airport, the more it will cost. If you want to save on parking fees, there are several offsite parking options.

When you visit Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, you'll notice the famous places and names that make the Live Music Capital of the World displayed for all travelers. In fact, ABIA is designed to make you feel as though you are right in the heart of Austin proper. To make the best of the well-designed airport, you should have an Austin Airport Terminal Map handy.

Austin Airport terminals

AUS has two terminals: the Barbara Jordan Terminal and the newer, smaller South Terminal. The primary terminal is the Barbara Jordan Terminal, with the South Terminal exclusively serving cheap airlines such as Allegiant and Frontier. In addition, United, Southwest, Spirit, JetBlue, Delta, American, Air Canada, and Alaska Airlines utilize the Barbara Jordan Terminal. The airport shuttle takes around 20 minutes to go between the two terminals.

Barbara Jordan Terminal

The Barbara Jordan Terminal is the larger of the two terminals, serving the bulk of domestic and international flights. The terminal is semi-oval in design, with ticketing and baggage claim on one end and two lengthy concourses on the other, where planes arrive and leave.

The terminal's two floors are connected by a split-level highway, with a curbside drop-off on the top and curbside pick-up on the lower level. Ground transportation options are located just outside the terminal, while the red and blue parking garages and rental car facilities are located across the pedestrian walkways and bridges.

South Terminal

The South Terminal accommodates domestic flights offered by Allegiant Air and Frontier Airlines.

It's a smaller terminal with just tarmac access for planes. The design is eccentric, and there is an outdoor terrace with a taco food truck and various grab-and-go food options.

You can refer to the Austin Airport Terminal Map provided above to see where the terminals and concourses are.

How to get between the terminals at AUS Airport

The two terminals are approximately 8 miles apart. So passengers will need to use the courtesy shuttle bus to link them.

Shuttles operate immediately outside the South Terminal and pick up and drop off passengers from the top level of the Barbara Jordan Terminal.

Shuttles run while flights are in operation, and the travel between terminals takes around 15-20 minutes.
