The New Orleans International Airport is also known as the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. Moisant Field was its original name. But in 2001, it was given a new name in honor of Louis Armstrong, a well-known jazz artist from the South. MSY is the allotted airport code for New Orleans Airport. The airport offers long-term and short onsite parking. For cheaper parking, there are plenty of offsite parking lots. MSY is one of the busiest airports in the city of New Orleans, but it is one of the easiest airports to navigate, especially with the help of the New Orleans International Airport Map.
New Orleans International Airport is approximately 11 miles from the central business district of New Orleans, i.e., Riverwalk, French Quarter, and Jackson Square. MSY is the 2nd lowest-lying international airport in the world.
