San Antonio Airport Terminals

Terminal A and Terminal B are the two terminals at San Antonio International Airport. Terminal A consists of three levels, while Terminal B has four. Terminal A is the largest of the two terminals, with a total of 17 gates. All international flights depart from Terminal A. This terminal's $35,600,000 restoration was finished on June 18, 2014, with the most noticeable passenger-facing upgrades being new terrazzo flooring, refurbished food courts, and new signage. In addition, on October 15, 2014, all Terminal A gates received new sequential numbers. Eight airlines operate from Terminal A, and fifteen of the seventeen gates are in service.

Terminal B, which was inaugurated in November 2010, has eight gates. American and Continental were the first two airlines to operate out of Terminal B. United moved from Terminal A to Terminal B on August 1, 2012, as a result of its merger with Continental. Between gates B3 and B5, a United Club is located. The USO is located on the baggage claim level of Terminal B underneath the USO.

There are ATMs in both terminals, and currency exchange services are available at Terminal A.

The San Antonio International Airport is outfitted with 22 EV charging station outlets. Twenty of these stations can be found in the Long Term and Short-Term parking facilities. However, registration is required to gain access.

How to get to San Antonio Airport


Throughout San Antonio, VIA Metropolitan Transit provides service as the primary public transit alternative. You may access downtown from the airport by crossing the marked crosswalk at the Lower Roadway (the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level in Terminals A and B). Route 5, which departs at the VIA bus stop at the extreme west end of Terminal B, will take you downtown in around 30 minutes.

Rental car

If you want to hire a car while in San Antonio, you may pick from several options. Take the elevator or escalator to the Mezzanine Level in Terminal B, and then cross the Sky Bridge to reach the rental counters.

Driving directions to SAT

  • From the north, you can take Interstate 10.
  • From the east, you can take Interstate 35, and from the west, you can take Highway 90.
  • Take Highway 281 north from downtown San Antonio. Then, just after Interstate 410, take the airport exit onto South Terminal Drive. From the center of San Antonio to the airport, it takes about 15 minutes to drive there.
