Towing

You can call roadside assistance to tow your Tesla if it breaks down and is not operable due to a mechanical or technological defect covered by warranty. Within 500 miles, they will tow your Tesla for free to the closest Tesla service facility; any distance beyond that will cost money. You will be charged a fee for the towing on your repair bill if the service center concludes that a warrantable issue was not the root of the fault.

Lockouts

You can call Tesla roadside assistance if you unintentionally lock your keys in the car, and they will try to release it remotely. However, you must be at a location with an internet (3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi) service to function.

Roadside assistance will send a qualified tow service provider within 50 miles to manually open the doors if they cannot unlock the vehicle remotely. Roadside assistance will offer a one-time courtesy tow within 50 miles to a service facility where a replacement key fob can be made if you've lost the key fob and need to be towed. The cost of creating the key fob is on you.

How Does Tesla Roadside Assistance Work?

You are qualified to receive roadside assistance services for your electric vehicle if you possess a Tesla protected by an extended service agreement or the manufacturer's New or Used Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty.

If you're a new owner, the coverage starts when the car is delivered and lasts for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. All year long, roadside assistance services are offered around the clock.

How to Get Tesla Roadside Assistance

You can ask the roadside assistance staff through the Tesla mobile app. It is accessible every day of the year, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
